Frameline Program
TILT is now in its second season of a groundbreaking collaboration with FRAMELINE , presenter of the San Francisco International LGBT Film Festival.
In the first season, TILT-trained media professionals led a free, 10-week, collaborative movie-making project for queer, transgendered, questioning, and straight ally youth, which resulted in All the Difference, a short narrative about queer romance, gender and identity exploration.
Out of this group, six students were chosen to move on to a second phase wherein they received one-on-one mentorship with professional filmmakers, intermediate classes, and access to video equipment over the span of three months to support the development and completion of their own short pieces.
Moving into the second season, Frameline and TILT offered a collaborative movie-making workshop to a new group of youth, and kicked it up a notch by adding an additional workshop for LGBT elders, aged 55+. Selected youth and elders will now join together for the advanced classes as they work on their individual films in the mentorship phase.
All films completed in the program have the incredible opportunity to premiere on the big screen at the renowned San Francisco International LGBT Film Festival, and are also shown at community screenings throughout the year in which they are completed.
