Offsite Youth Media Workshops
Depending on your schedule and budget, TILT will work with you to design a project for 7th-12th graders in your classroom, community organization or after-school program using these four Project Levels:
Level I
- Media Literacy Training and Some Hands-on Training
- Time: 8 hours (1-2 sessions) over 1 day-1 week
- Equipment: 2 mini-DV Cameras, 1 TV & VCR
- Description: Classroom/workshop setting, teach theory, production, presentation
- Product: 1-minute works
- Budget: Low
Level II
- Media Literacy and Hands-On Production Training
- Time: 24 hours (8 or 16 sessions) over 8-10 weeks
- Equipment: 2 mini-DV Cameras, professional audio, 1 TV & VCR
- Description: Classroom setting, teach theory, hands-on production (scripting, shooting & in-camera editing)
- Product: Short 3-5 minute movies
- Budget: Medium
Level III
- Collaborative Movie-Making Project and Media Literacy Training
- Time: 55 hours (5 3-hour sessions and 5 8-hour production days) over 6-8 weeks
- Equipment: 2 mini-DV video cameras, professional audio, digital editing system, tripods, lights and other field support gear, 1 TV & VCR
- Description: Flexible hours (outside of class), teach theory, hands-on production (scripting, shooting and editing), shooting on location, post-production at FAF facility
- Product: 5-15 minute movie
- Budget: Medium-High
